Sinter Grate Bar

The grate strip is usually made of superalloy material and has extremely high wear and heat resistance. This material can maintain stable performance in high temperature environment, while can resist the wear of materials in the furnace and corrosion of high temperature gas. The grate strip is usually designed with a special structure to enhance its wear resistance and extend its service life.

 

The ating strip is an important part of sintering machine, which is used to support sintering ore in high temperature environment to ensure the smooth sintering process. Its materials and production method have a crucial influence on the performance and life of sintering machine.

 

Gated strip material

 

The grate strip material requires stable mechanical and chemical properties in high temperature environment. At present, the commonly used grate strip materials include high chromium alloy steel, high aluminum alloy steel, high silicon alloy steel and cast iron.

 

1. High-chromium alloy steel

High chromium alloy steel is a kind of steel with chromium as the main alloy element, with good high temperature resistance, oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance. Its main disadvantage is the high hardness, easy to fatigue cracking. The commonly used high-chromium alloy steel has 12Cr1MoV, 15 CrMo, etc.

 

2. High-grade aluminum alloy steel

High aluminum alloy steel is a kind of steel with aluminum as the main alloy element, with good high temperature resistance, oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance. Compared with high chromium alloy steel, it has lower hardness but better toughness. Commonly used high aluminum alloy steel has 1 Cr 5 Mo, 3Cr5MoV, etc.

 

3. High-silicon alloy steel

High silicon alloy steel is a kind of steel with silicon as the main alloy element, with good high temperature resistance, oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance. Its main disadvantage is the ease of cracking. Commonly used high silicon alloy steel has 20SiMn2MoV, 35SiMn2MoV, etc.

 

4. Cast iron

Cast iron is an inexpensive and easy to process material that is often used for smaller parts of sintering machines. But its high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance is poor, easy to break in the high temperature environment. In the grate strip, the cast iron is often used to support the smaller parts of the sintering machine, such as the wheel shaft.

 

Production method of grate strip

 

The production methods of grate strip mainly include forging, casting and welding.

 

1. Forge

Forging is a processing method that warms metal materials to a certain temperature and then changes their shape and performance by pressing and impacting. The forged grate strip has good mechanical properties and high temperature resistance, but the cost is relatively high. Common forging methods include free forging, rolling forging, ring forging and so on.

 

2. Casting

Casting is the processing method of melting the metal material after heating and pouring into the mold, cooling and getting the desired shape and size. The cost of casting grate strip is low, but its high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance are poor. Common casting methods include sand casting, precision casting, die casting, etc.

 

3. Welding

Welding is a processing method that heating two or more metal materials to a melting point through a heat source to fuse them together. The welded grate strip cost is low, but its strength and high temperature resistance are poor. Common welding methods include arc welding, argon arc welding, submerged arc welding and so on.

 

The material and production method of the grate strip directly affect the performance and life of the sintering machine. When selecting the grate strip material and production method, it should be made according to the specific situation and use requirements of sintering machine to ensure the normal operation of sintering machine.
